10 Creative Gadgets of 2013 You'll Love to Own

Here are some of the latest creative gadgets of the first quarter of 2013. Most are available now in the market and some are still in the making and still in progress or just a concept.

Recon Jet Groundbreaking Heads-Up Display Sunglasses
In 2010 Recon released the world’s first Heads-Up-Display-enabled snow sport goggles, capable of displaying real-time statistics like speed, altitude, time and temperature on a full-color micro LCD screen. Now, the innovative company has introduced a faster, smaller, more advanced version of the Heads-Up Display (HUD) on an engineered pair of polarized sunglasses. Driven by a miniaturized dual core processor, the Jet features everything from Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, ANT+ and GPS to a high-def camera, dedicated graphics and a comprehensive suite of location-based sensors. OmniDirectional Camera
This omnidirectional camera, currently under development by Ricoh and is not currently available to buy, takes a full 360° panoramic image in one shot. 360° omnidirectional camera sends photos to your smartphone.

A Virtual Laser Keyboard
The virtual keyboard and touchpad from Celluon has been around for a while, but it’s a cool device to own and sure to draw some attention if you’re using it in public. It’s the type of gadget you could see James Bond use if he worked in the office. Called the Magic Cube, the device connects to any bluetooth device to project a full size laser keyboard with 63 keys in a QWERTY layout onto any flat surface. Works with iPad, iPhone, and Android, or you can simply plug and play on any Windows system. A key feature of the virtual keyboard is that it saves space. 

OceanWings
French designer Guillaume Binard partnered with Aqua Lung to create Oceanwings, a wetsuit inspired by skydiving to help you swim underwater. Free-diver Pierre Frolla demonstrates the wetsuit in this video by Jerôme Espla. There are no confirmed reports on when the suits will be available for sale. 

LG Touch Concept Mobile Phone
The award winning LG Touch mobile phone concept combines state-of-the-art touch technology with a minimalist aesthetic that challenges the limitations of existing mobile phones. The primary feature is a high-tech polymer membrane touch surface that constantly changes to give the user tactile feedback to what’s displayed on the screen. It allows those with sight impairments to read Braille, or users who are shopping online to literally feel the texture of the material they are looking at. It’s virtual reality put to real world use. The LG Touch was the Grand Prize Winner of the 2012 LG Mobile Design Competition.

World’s First Independent SmartWatch
Neptune Computer Inc. is a Canadian company that designs, develops and sells wearable computers, today announced the world’s first independent smartwatch: the Neptune Pine. The watch which will run on Leaf OS, a modified version of Android and it will have it’s own micro-SIM. The watch will allow you to make calls and will even let you connect to a data network. The watch will come with a 2.5 inch display, 1 Ghz single-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor, a 5 megapixel camera, Speakerphone, Microphone, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS and GSM connectivity. The watch is said to come in 8, 16, or 32 GB memory variants. Other features offered by the watch is a Digital compass, Heart Rate Monitor, FM Radio and a full QWERTY keyboard, that has been designed to fit the 2.4-inch display.


PowerTrek Portable Charger that Runs on Water
A Swedish company has invented a charger for mobile phones, cameras and GPS devices that can power-up your electronic gadgets using water. The PowerTrekk has been designed for people who ‘who spend time away from the electricity grid’ and do not have access to conventional power in remote locations. The charger needs just a tablespoon of water to produce around 10 hours of phone battery life.

iWatch
This iWatch concept by Esben Oxholm is very simple and beautiful. It draws its inspiration from the iPhone series with only one physical button. It features a matte, black aluminium strap, with a shiny glass fascia. Inside the watch there’s an engraved Apple logo.

Chaval Heated Gloves
For those of us that live in colder conditions or for those that are sensitive to the cold will know that your hands can get quite stiff and unresponsive unless you have some gloves or perhaps a pair of these heated, fleece-lined leather gloves, at least your hands will stay warm. The heating is regulated automatically and they recharge via a cable in the cuff, just like your phone.
